Target 17 of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap commits the government to ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have equal levels of digital inclusion by 2026.

This sits within the broader Outcome 17, which is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to information and services enabling participation in informed decision-making regarding their own lives.

Digital inclusion is about more than just having the ability to get online; it is an enabler of a vast array of other benefits, including health, education and social connectedness, as well as making sure First Nations people have access to the information they need to make decisions for themselves and their families.
